Gamera 2015 Trailer

Gamera looks like a lot of fun to me.  I might as well include this link too because if you're a movie fan, you might enjoy checking it out.  It is about Paramount allowing 100 plus movies to be streamed for free on Youtube.

Oh that is awesome. I had no idea they were bringing the big turtle back. I still need to check out his 90s flicks. I've heard those are a blast.

I watched the last Gamera, and thought it was a lot of fun. I have a friend that's a kaiju fan, and although he loves Godzilla, his favorite is Gamera. You can get a multi-pack of those Gamera films on blu-ray pretty cheap these days on Amazon.

That trailer looked more fun to me than that last Godzilla film. Whether or not it is remains to be seen, but whoever put that trailer together did an excellent job.

Looks like they learned what not to do from the 1998 Godzilla. (I didn't give the 2014 one a thumbs up, but it was better than '98.)

Yes, I feel the same way Richard. I didn't think the 98 Godzilla was so bad at the time, but trying to watch it now is painful. I didn't see the 2014 at the cinema, but I'm glad I waited just to watch in on NF rental as it had its problems as well. Sometimes I wonder if these giant critter movies can connect with a modern audience, but I guess if one is made well it can. The Host was pretty good as was Pacific Rim.

I always wanted to comment on this post. That trailer for the new Gamera does look terrific and I think it is just what the kaiju doctor ordered. I'm quite looking forward to this one.

Just wanted to say thanks for the EVA 3.33 review. Interesting. I have not been wildly crazy about the remake films for Eva but I will definitely watch it.

I really, unlike many people, liked the first Eva film because it was so closely tied to the series. The second was so different from the original story by design I just didn't connect to it the same way. I suspect 3.33 will be even more disappointing.

Best.sff

Yeah, for a Gamera film it looks way better than the last Godzilla film. The last few Gamera films weren't bad either and are pretty cheap on Blu-ray. A friend told me there's still an Eva film after 3.33, which I didn't know about. Here's what he had to say: Spectacular animation, befuddled story line. How many years will it take for the 4th and final part to reveal whatever Anno has in mind for this latest rewrite of the classic 1990's series? Only time will tell.

I wouldn't be surprised if they rebuilt all those films or tinkered with them even more as time goes on to make them flow better or more coherent. Probably the best thing, would be just to streamline them, make one long movie like Akira and let it go.
